Elaine Ewing has had a lifelong love of photography. As unofficial "famly photographer," she captured candid shots and formal portraits of family and friends for over 20 years. Over the years her interest in photography grew beyond family snapshots into an artistic outlet. She traveled extensively, concentrating on landscape and wildlife photography in the US and Australia.
Her style has evolved over the years and her love of Los Angeles and her passion for classic cinema and Film Noir is reflected in her current work, featured here. She uses a Canon Rebel Xsi or an Olympus 8080 for most shots with an HP R817 as a back up.
Elaine plays by her own rules and believes that art is subjective. She will shoot in color or black and white, pulling and pushing color and saturation at will. She avoids the rules and the "how to's", and resists convention. She uses PSP 10x over Photoshop in many cases. She likes her results and hopes as this site grows, that you will too.
Elaine is an old school geek in many respects and has been enthralled by the internet and it's limitless possibilities for nearly 15 years. . Her first professional foray online, was as co-creator of Antipodean Ventures LLC with the amazingly talented Rodney Smith. AV LLC produces several successful commercial and entertainment sites. She has developed, written and edited for humor websites including RinkWrite.com and National Lampoon's Super Awesome Wow.
Elaine is a screenwriter with several projects in various stages of development and is co-founder of Ether Entertainment, a fledgling film production company.
Elaine lives and works in Los Angeles with her partner, screenwriter Travis Rink.
